Red Wing Boots for the Fall
Posted: Nov 10 2015
Over the last century Red Wing Shoes have become synonymous with quality, craftsmanship, and excellence. Originally designer for demanding working conditions such as mining, logging, and farming, the creation of this brand set out to provide the people with proper footwear that these tasks demanded. Charles Beckman, who founded the company in 1905, envisioned a shoe that did not only pass the test of time, but was also comfortable to wear. Beckman revolutionized the industry and quickly raised the standard when it came to quality craftsmanship.
Since the brands inception over 100 years ago, the same level of excellent craftsmanship and innovation still remains. Red Wing only uses premium leather which is manufactured and processed by a company which is also owned by Red Wing Shoes. This is a brand that you can rely on knowing that they've been in the business of making quality footwear with over a century of experience. With quality construction, Red Wing Boots provide insulation for warmth, and waterproofing for the rain. With proper boot care, they can last practically forever.
Here are a few of the styles that we currently carry. Take a closer look.
Iron Ranger Boot
Lets start the list of with the Iron Ranger Boot. Originally named to embrace Mesabi Iron Range in northern Minnesota, these boots were named Iron Rangers due to their toughness. Back then you would see iron miners wearing these boots due to their extra protection on the toe. This timeless boot is still extremely popular to this day. It is a 6-inch boot which is constructed from premium Amber Harness leather, chrome hardware and quality speed hooks.
We currently carry the Iron Ranger Boot in Amber Harness leather, Black Harness leather, Charcoal Rough and Tough Leather, and Oxblood Mesa leather.
Classic Moc Boot
Beckman Round Boot
Named after the man himself, the Beckman Round Boot features a 6-Inch silhouette and is made from Cigar Featherstone dress leather. These boots were originally designed when Charles Beckman could not find the right day-to-day boot to wear in the muddy streets. This classic boot is very similar in design to the Iron Rangers, however it does not have a second layer of leather on the toe, leading to a simpler and lighter boot. The leather used for these boots is smooth to the touch and will only look better as it ages.
Classic Chukka Boot
As the silhouette of these boots would suggest, the Red Wing Chukka Boot was created with a more casual approach. These boots were initially used for lighter working conditions that involved bending, climbing, and kneeling. Although this boot may look more casual it still features the same high quality construction as the other models. The smooth outsole results in a more comfortable boot and the premium Briar Oil Slick leather keeps the shoes much lighter compared to many other boots.
Some of the Red Wings accessories we carry include their premium line of wool socks. These are the perfect match for their rugged boots, as they provide your feet with extra warmth and protection.
