Marc Jacobs is a world renowned American Fashion designer, most recognized for his personal label which operates under his own name as well as his role as the creative director of Louis Vuitton. He has grown his personal label to an impressive 200 retail locations in 80 countries since the brands inception. The talented designer powerhouse has won numerous awards during his career in multiple different areas such as Womens/Menswear Designer of the Year, Accessory Designer of the Year and even a Lifetime Achievement Award.
His first dive into the fashion world was at the age of 15, working as a stock boy at Charivari in New York. Later in his life, Marc Jacobs attended Parsons School of Design, where he started selling his first line of hand-knit sweaters. His first collection bearing the Marc Jacobs label was in 1986. By 1987 he had been awarded the fashion industry's highest tribute, the Perry Ellis Award for "New Fashion Talent", making him the youngest designer to ever receive the award. Marc Jacobs came on board Louis Vuitton in 1997 as the newly appointed creative director. There, he created the companies first ready-to-wear collection. Marc Jacobs left Louis Vuitton in 2013 to put more focus on his personal label 'Marc Jacobs' and diffusion line 'Marc by Marc Jacobs'.
