How to make the perfect gin and tonic

The gin and tonic is a classic summertime drink which is incredibly tasty and easy to make. If you've ever wondered how to make the perfect gin drinks, look no further. Although most recipes will look similar, using gin, tonic water, and lime as their base, this recipe puts a twist on the classic drink by using frozen tonic water ice cubes.  The ratio of gin to tonic can vary depending on your taste. We've decided to go with 3 parts gin and 4 parts tonic water, but it can also be made with a 1:1, 1:2, or even 1:3 ratio. Without further ado, here is what we like to think our perfect gin and tonic recipe.

Necessary Ingredients:

  • 4-5 tonic water or regular ice cubes
  • 3 oz of a gin of your choice
  • 4 oz of tonic water
  • 1 tbsp of freshly squeezed lime juice
  • Lime wedge for garnish

Pour some tonic water into an ice cube tray several hours before. Optionally, place your glass in the freezer as well to keep it perfectly chilled.

Step 1

Take the ice cubes out of the freezer and put them in a tall and narrow glass. You'll want the ice cubes to fill the cup about 3/4 of the way.

Step 2

Now take the gin of your choice and pour it into the glass followed by the tonic water and then the lime juice. Stir well.

Step 3

Grab your lime wedge and garnish the drink
