Men's Spring Fashion - How To Wear A Striped Shirt
Posted: Apr 01 2017
In our opinion, one of the biggest staple mens spring fashion pieces is a classic striped shirt. Today, we will show you how to pull it off all season long.
Are you looking to invest in a striped tee this spring? Maybe you already own one but you've been keeping it parked in your closet because you're unsure of how to wear it. Striped shirts have been a menswear staple for years and the truth is, it's not that hard to pull off.

So where do you begin?
If you don't own one yet, consider starting off with a basic short sleeve t-shirt. Try swapping out your regular t-shirts for one with horizontal stripes on them.
For example - Next time you plan on wearing an all black monochromatic outfit, consider swapping out your t-shirt for a black and white striped one instead. This will result in a much more interesting silhouette, without messing up the look.
Another great way to use a simple striped t-shirt to create a great outfit is to play around with lighter tones. Grab yourself a striped t-shirt in baby blue and white, pair it up with some distressed light washed jeans and a pair of white kicks to round out the look. You can accessorize this outfit with bright coloured accessories such as a red hat or a yellow sweater.

Feel like going against the grain? Opt in for a square and boxy fit for your striped t-shirt. Pair it up with some boxy fit chinos or tailored dress pants for a fashion conscious sophisticated look.

Feel comfortable with a short sleeve?
Now that you know the basics of incorporating stripes into your wardrobe, test it out with a long sleeve tee. Go for something knitted and oversized, so it looks like as if you're almost swimming in it. Pair it up with some light washed denim and your favourite sneakers for the ultimate spring look. Add some sunglasses, bracelets and a watch to round it off.
Layers on layers...
We've all heard of the term layering in fashion, but this is a whole new take on the coined term. Instead of wearing a short sleeve underneath your longsleeve, try reversing the look. Grab yourself a long sleeve striped t-shirt and wear it underneath a basic black/white or your favorite graphic tee.
