When we first saw the Diesel Black Gold Type 2614 Jeans, we knew something was different. The name and how the jeans were packaged really caught our eye and the 38" inseam seemed unique. We looked in further, and found out all the details about this unique cut of denim, but first a little brand history about Diesel Black Gold.
Diesel Black Gold, launched in 2008, is the runway focussed mens & women's line by the Italian denim juggernaut, Diesel. The line was originally launched by designer, Sophia Kokosalaki, and was later succeeded by Andreas Melbostad in 2012. Instead of focussing on denim treatments and washes like Diesel main label, Diesel Black Gold focusses on super-premium materials, inventive cuts/silhouettes, and experimental twists. That brings us to the Diesel Black Gold Type 2614 Jeans.
To the untrained eye, these jeans will look like very very long skinny jeans with a ridiculous 38" inseam. However, if you take a look at how they are packaged, and how they are meant to be worn, you may easily come to love this unique cut of jean.
Creative Director, Andreas Melbostad designed and debuted the 2614 jean cut in Spring 2016 saying, “I created Type-2614 with the idea of adding texture to a long lean silhouette. By cutting the jeans extra-long and then crushing them, we gave new dimension and movement to the leg.” We love the effortless stacking of the jeans, which, due to the high stretch fabric & skinny cut, are able to evenly stack all the way up to the mid thigh without the fabric bunching up at the hem.
Diesel Black Gold Type 2614 jeans are available at all Boys'Co retail stores now.
